More nursery love..

Being home all day I tend to go a little mental and find myself consumed with thoughts of decorating and redecorating rooms. While I decorated my daughters room over a year ago I find myself still not happy with the end result. I know why, but just haven't taken the opportunity to repaint it yet. I've decided the colour is not dark enough and its missing a dresser! Anyway on my hunt for more ideas on how to make her room just right i stumbled across these gorgeous pics of some nurseries. Enjoy!

Isn't this a cute idea for a kids room - a monogram made from crayons! So cute!

Gold love

photography by melanie acevedo

I just had to share this! I think it is absolutely gorgeous! What a glamourous staircase! I found this image on 'This is Glamourous'  blog.

Artist love - Luli Sanchez

Im in love with luli sanchez. Originally trained as a watercolorist, Luli's unique style and strong sense of colour and pattern works gorgeously in textiles. Luli is a textile designer based in NY.

I love her distinctive style. I would happily stretch out a piece of her fabric and display it as art in a frame in my house.

Here's a few of my favourites:

Style Icon - Aerin Lauder

I fell in love with Aerin Lauder's style after I saw her featured in a magazine years ago. I tore out the pictures of her houses and still have them! She has a timeless classic style that oozes sophistication.

In case you dont know who she is Aerin is the granddaughter of the famous Estee Lauder.

Amazing Miranda

I can't resist posting these stunning pics of Miranda. She is absolutely stunning! How is it possible that this girl appears to be so perfect! My friend and I were in awe looking at these fabulous photos in Harpers Bazaar Nov 2011 issue late last night. Aren't they gorgeous! Oh and if you can look past her perfect physique and gorgeous clothes you may even notice the gorgeous teal bedhead in the background of her nude shot :-)

Designer crush - Kelly Hoppen

Now im sure she's been written about a hundred times before. She has been around for a long time, but I just cant get over my crush! Yep, i'm crushing on designer Kelly Hoppen lately! Kelly's style is the style that I am personally drawn to and am slowly (with my limited budget) trying to move towards. Her rooms are timeless.  She manages to create elegant, sophisticated spaces that somehow manage to maintain a certain level of masculinity which I love.

Kelly's spaces often feature neutral colour palettes combined with clean lines, soft feminine touches, small splashes of colour, and a mix of new and old feature pieces. I think this combination not only makes the interiors inviting, but interesting.

I just finished watching her new show 'Superior Interiors with Kelly Hoppen'.  Its definitely worth a watch. During one of the episodes Kelly said that she tries to create spaces that allow her clients to feel how they want to feel when in the room, i.e. relaxed and comfortable. Rather than just making a pretty space.

She has a range of fabulous books on offer.  Im desperate to get my hands on her latest book 'Interiors' which came out earlier this year.  You can buy it here: http://www.amazon.com/Kelly-Hoppen-Interiors-Inspiration-Comfortable/dp/0847835758/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1319683519&sr=8-3

Here's a few of her gorgeous rooms for you to swoon and drool over. Enjoy :-)

Going green.....well kind o

I've been a little obsessed with finding the right indoor plant these past few weeks.  I love the pop of green they add to a space, and how they somehow make a room feel and look fresher.  I tend to be drawn to more neutral calmer spaces when I relax so plants add the little pop of colour I think is necessary to really finish the room.

What indoor plants do you think work well? Im keen to hear from you.

Here are a few pictures of interiors with plants or cuttings of leaves that I think work fabulously.

Hi fellow bloggers! Well i've definately been out of action for waaaay too long! I have missed blogging! The last few days i've finally set some time aside to delve back into all things decorating, and boy have I missed it! I've been playing around doing up a few mood boards for fun. What do you think?
